1. Club Member Code of Conduct
1.1. I will always abide by the rules set by the coach, club, national body and/or event organiser.
1.2. I will never argue with an official. If I disagree with a decision I will inform the official or event organiser after the competition.
1.3. I will control my temper. I understand that verbal abuse of officials and committee members, and sledging other triathletes and deliberately distracting or provoking another participant is not acceptable or permitted behaviours in any sport.
1.4. I will care for club equipment and report any breakages or losses to the coach or committee.
1.5. I will work equally hard for myself and my club.
1.6. I will be a good sport and applaud success whether by my club or other competitors.
1.7. I will treat all triathletes in my sport as they like to be treated. I will not bully or take unfair advantage of another competitor.
1.8. I will cooperate with my coach, officials and competitors.
1.9. I will display modesty in victory and graciousness in defeat.
1.10. I will participate for my own enjoyment and benefit, not just to please parents and coaches
1.11. I will not arrive at events or club activities intoxicated. I will comply with anti-doping policies.
1.12. I will refrain from any form of sexual harassment towards triathletes and all others associated with the club.
1.13. I will respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
1.14. I will thank officials and event organisers at the end of the event.
2. Coach Code of Conduct
2.1. I will remember that triathletes participate for enjoyment and winning is only part of the fun.
2.2. I will never ridicule or yell at triathletes for making a mistake or not winning.
2.3. I will be reasonable in my demands on triathletes’ time, energy and enthusiasm.
2.4. I will operate within the rules and spirit of the sport and teach my triathletes to do the same.
2.5. I will ensure that the time triathletes spend with me is a positive experience. All triathletes are deserving of equal attention and opportunities.
2.6. I will have balanced focus on the elite triathletes and understand that all triathletes need and deserve equal coaching time.
2.7. I will not use coarse or bad language, nor will I harass triathletes, officials, spectators or other coaches.
2.8. I will do my best to ensure that equipment and facilities meet safety standards and are appropriate to the age and ability of all triathletes.
2.9. I will care for club equipment and report any breakages or losses to the coach or committee.
2.10. I will display control, respect and professionalism to all involved with the sport including competitors, marshals, coaches, officials, administrators, the media, parents and spectators. I will encourage my triathletes to do the same.
2.11. I will show concern and caution toward sick and injured triathletes and follow the advice of a physician when determining whether an injured triathlete is ready to recommence training or competition.
2.12. I will obtain appropriate qualifications and keep up to date with the latest coaching practices and the principles of growth and development of young triathletes.
2.13. I will not arrive at events or club related activities intoxicated. I will not allow the unlawful supply of alcohol at training, events or club functions. I will promote adherence to anti-doping policies.
2.14. I will refrain from any form of sexual harassment towards triathletes and all others associated with the club.
2.15. I will respect the rights, dignity and worth of all people
involved in the sport, regardless of their gender, ability or cultural
background.
3. Committee Member Code of Conduct
3.1. I will provide opportunities for triathletes to be involved in planning, leadership, evaluation and decision-making related to their club.
3.2. I will create pathways for triathletes to participate not just as a participant but also as a coach, marshal, committee member etc.
3.3. I will ensure that rules, equipment, length of events and training schedules are modified to suit the age, ability and maturity level of triathletes.
3.4. I will ensure quality supervision and instruction for triathletes.
3.5. I will ensure to the best of my ability that equipment provided by the club is safe, appropriate and in good working order.
3.6. I will remember that triathletes participate for their enjoyment and benefit.
3.7. I will help coaches and officials highlight appropriate behaviour and skill development, and help to improve the standards of coaching and officiating to the best of my ability.
3.8. I will ensure that everyone involved in the club emphasises fair play, and not winning at all costs.
3.9. I will support and reinforce the clubs code of conduct (on the website) to triathletes, coaches, officials and parents and encourage them to follow it.
3.10. I will not arrive at events or club related activities intoxicated. I will not allow the unlawful supply of alcohol at training, events or club functions. I will promote adherence to anti-doping policies.

4. Official & Marshal Code of Conduct
4.1. I will place the safety and welfare of participants above all else.
4.2. I will show concern and caution towards sick and injured triathletes.
4.3. I will give all triathletes a ‘fair go’ regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
4.4. I will be impartial, consistent, objective and courteous when making decisions.
4.5. I will accept responsibility for my actions and decisions.
4.6. I will condemn unsporting behaviour and promote respect for the individuality of triathletes.
4.7. I will avoid any situations which may lead to or be construed as a conflict of interest.
4.8. I will be a positive role model in behaviour and personal appearance and ensure my comments are positive and supportive.
4.9. I will be a good sport as I understand that actions speak louder than words.
4.10. I will always respect, remain loyal to and support other officials.
4.11. I will keep up to date with the latest club policies, trends and principles of their application.
4.12. I will refrain from any form of personal abuse towards triathletes or other officials.
4.13. I will care for club equipment assigned to me and report any breakages or losses to the coach or committee after an event.

5. Parent Code of Conduct
5.1. I won’t pressure my child in any way – I know that this is their event/sport and not mine.
5.2. I will not use bad language, nor will I harass triathletes, coaches, officials or other spectators.
5.3. I will encourage my child to compete within the rules and respect officials’ and coaches’ decisions – no matter what.
5.4. I will teach my child to respect the efforts of other competitors.
5.5. I will remember that children learn best by example so I will applaud good performances by both my child’s club and their competitors.
5.6. I will give positive comments that motivate and encourage continued effort.
5.7. I will focus on my child’s efforts and performance.
5.8. I will thank the coaches, officials and other volunteers who give their time to my child.
5.9. I will help when asked by a coach or official.
5.10. I won’t criticise or ridicule my child’s performance.
5.11. I will not arrive at my child’s club or related activities, intoxicated.
5.12. I will refrain from any form of sexual harassment.
5.13. I will respect the rights, dignity and worth of all people
involved in the event, regardless of their gender, ability or cultural
background.
